Biography

  • In 2021, joined with Preston Smith to become just the second linebacker duo in team history (since 1982) to both register nine-plus sacks in the same season (Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith in 2019).
  • Led the team with 28 QB hits (No. 7 in the NFL) in 2021 and finished No. 5 among NFL LBs with 53 QB pressures according to NFL Next Gen Stats.
  • In the 2021 NFC Divisional Playoff vs. San Francisco, became the 13th Packer to record two-plus sacks (two) in a postseason game since 1982.
  • Finished No. 2 on the team with five sacks and tied for No. 2 on the team with 11 QB hits in 2020. Also appeared in both postseason contests, finishing with 1½ sacks (No. 2 on the team) and three QB hits (tied for No. 1 on the team).
  • Played in all 16 games as a rookie in 2019 and finished No. 5 on the team with 19 QB pressures. Also registered 30 tackles (14 solo), two sacks, three tackles for a loss, a fumble recovery and seven QB hits.
  • Earned first-team All-Big Ten recognition from the league's coaches as a sophomore and as a junior at the University of Michigan, also earning second-team honors from The Associated Press in both of those seasons.
  • Was part of Michigan defenses that ranked in the top three in the country in total defense in all three of his seasons with the Wolverines (No. 2 in 2018, No. 3 in 2017, No. 1 in 2016).
  • Was named the 2015 All-USA Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today following his senior season at Paramus (N.J.)
  • Catholic High School and was rated as the top prospect in the nation by Rivals.com, Scout.com and ESPN.
